Software Engineer (Remote)

The Role

CoTrain is onboarding experienced Software Engineers to join our private expert marketplace and work directly with high-growth companies, enterprise teams, and well-funded startups building real products at scale.

As a Software Engineer on CoTrain, you will contribute to production systems across web applications, backend infrastructure, APIs, cloud deployments, and AI-enabled product initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

You are a strong fit if you have:

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong proficiency in one or more languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, or C++

• Experience building and shipping real production applications

• Strong understanding of backend systems, APIs, and scalable architecture

• Familiarity with modern frameworks such as React, Node.js, Express, or Ruby on Rails

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Ability to work independently and deliver with minimal supervision

• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Upper-intermediate English or higher

Nice to Have

• Experience designing distributed systems or high-availability infrastructure

• Expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines

• Experience working in high-growth startup or enterprise environments

• Familiarity with security best practices and role-based access control

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer on CoTrain, you may work on projects such as:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade software systems

• Building scalable web applications and backend services

• Developing and optimizing RESTful APIs and integrations

• Improving performance, reliability, and security across applications

• Collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams at client companies

• Participating in code reviews, testing, debugging, and technical documentation

• Supporting cloud deployments and infrastructure as projects scale

Compensation

CoTrain opportunities are priced at the expert level, based on experience and project scope.

• Hourly Rate: $80–$170 per hour

• Annual Equivalent: $165,000–$350,000+ per year (full-time workload)
